I have had a fast heartbeat and palpitations with chest pain that comes and goes. My heart can beat from 40 to 170 bpm. Last year I went for an ECG, and they said my heart was a bit fast, so I had a 24-hour ECG. They said nothing to worry about at this moment. I am seeing my doctor next week for the palpitations; what should I expect from this appointment? As I have had an ECG twice. The only thing that did not happen was to listen to my heart with a stethoscope. So I do not know what the doctor will do this time. What tests or examinations should I expect?

I can see they did an exercise ECG (electrocardiogram), but nothing was found. Any history of smoking, diabetes, or drug usage? Please let them check your neck vein to see if it is dilated and if there is a rapid pulse, check the heart sound to see if it is faint, then do an ECHO (echocardiogram), CBC (complete blood count), ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), and CRP (c-reactive protein) test and reply to me with the result.
