Medical Conditions - Chronic Hepatitis B

Individuals that get tested positive for the hepatitis B virus for six months or more after the first positive result are said to have chronic hepatitis B infection. Prolonged infection occurs when the immune system is unable to get rid of the hepatitis B virus. This results in the virus still active in the blood and liver.
