Medical Conditions - Gingival Recession

It is defined as the displacement of marginal gingiva to the cementoenamel junction. There is a loss of the periodontal connective tissue fibres and the alveolar bone. It is caused due to inflammatory periodontal diseases, ulcerations of the gingiva, trauma to the gingival margins, and gingival ischemia. It is treated by using gingival grafts, scaling, and root planing.
