Opioids include prescription drugs like Vicodin and synthetic drugs such as Morphine to treat pain due to surgery, cancer, headache, back pain, etc., and street or illegal drugs like Heroin. Opioids tend to cause drug dependence or addiction, sudden stopping of which can result in withdrawal effects. Their side effects include drowsiness, constipation, shallow breathing, and nausea.
