Physical appearances of the child, such as height, weight, hair, body structure, and skills, are acquired from their parents. In addition, various diseases such as heart problems, diabetes, and blood pressure are acquired, affecting the growth pattern of their child.

  • Environmental Factors - The environment plays a very important role in the growth and development of a child. A safe and secure environment, along with the love and support of family, helps the child's overall growth.

  • Hormonal Factors - Hormones are important for growth and development as they influence various body functions. Children usually suffer from growth defects if the hormone-secreting glands do not function properly.

  • Nutrition - Balanced nutrition is important for a child's healthy development and growth. Diet should contain vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. If the child is deficient in nutrition, deficiency disease is caused, affecting the growth and development of the child.

What Are the Stages of Development in a Child?

  • Newborn Development - This stage comes from birth to one month. The child learns to develop a response to external stimuli.

  • Infant Development - This stage comes in between one to twelve months. At this stage, the child shows various developmental skills.

  • Preschooler Development - This stage comes in between three to six years. In this stage. In this stage, the child goes to preschool and kindergarten. The children develop skills in art, crafts, and drawing.

  • School Age Development - This stage is between six to twelve years. After that, children start becoming independent both at home and school.

There are various steps parents can implement to ensure their child's development.

  1. Parents should provide a healthy environment for their children.

  2. The instinct of curiosity should be developed in a child.

  3. Parents should take care of the diet and overall health of their children.

  4. Parents should encourage the child to learn various dance, music, and arts activities.

  5. Parents should take care of the education of their children.
