Would you recommend birth control pills for my acne?

Hello doctor,

I am a 33 year old female. As a teenager, I got acne on my face and back. In my 20's it mostly went away. I would get a pimple here and there on my face, but nothing too bad. My back cleared up completely. Now in my 30's, the acne has started to come back worse. I get breakouts on my face, chest, and back. I have tried courses of antibiotics like Minocycline and Doxycycline, but they never cleared up entirely. My doctor checked my hormone levels, but there was nothing abnormal. He also got me checked for PCOS, but there was nothing abnormal there either. Would you recommend trying birth control or should I go straight for Accutane?

My son has a painless bump on his palm. Is it a wart?

Hi doctor,

My son, who is 6 years old, has a bump on the palm of his hand. It is a hard bump, and he is on antibiotic Cefalexin 259 mg. Is this a wart? It does not pain on touching. He has had this for about a week and a half. His primary care doctor did not seem to know what it was so she prescribed an antibiotic. I have attached a photo of the bump.

I have a zit or pimple on nose. Should I be concerned about skin cancer?

Hello doctor,

I have a zit or pimple on my nose. I had it for a few years. I was never worried about it. It does not look too extreme or anything. But someone mentioned about skin cancer sometimes starting as small red bumps that do not go away. I am not sure if it is possible to have a pimple for years. Or is it something to be concerned about?

How to get rid of scabies and itchy blisters in a 1-year-old child?

Hello doctor,

My 1-year-old baby boy got scabies when he was just four months. He was prescribed permethrin 5 %, and it worked. But slowly, it started again. Almost ten months have passed, and small blisters have appeared on his fingers and palms, especially on the sides of his feet. These blisters are extremely itchy and have pale, whitish water filled in them. Some of them are big, about 5 to 8 mm in diameter. After 2 to 3 weeks, these begin to dry up, and the skin gets flaky, dark pink, and sometimes purplish pink in color. He barely sleeps and gets awoke due to itching. He has been using Fusidic acid and Triprolidine Hydrochloride as per the doctor's prescription. Can you help me know what this condition is? And how can I help my little boy to get rid of this?

Thank you.
