Why are there face and lip swelling after dental surgery under anesthesia?

Hi doctor,

My 7-year-old son had dental surgery two days ago. He had a tooth removed and two fillings under anesthesia. Today his face looks a little swollen, and he has a white cloudy mass on the back of his lip. Should I send him to the emergency room? He said he had no pain. Or what can I do for treatment at home?

Is slurred speech normal after getting front teeth veneers?

Hi doctor,

I recently got six porcelain veneers across my top front teeth, and now I have a lot of difficulty in my speech. I have a slurring sound while saying 's' and 't' in particular. I always had a bit of a lisp, but now it is so much worse that I am embarrassed to talk at all because I sound so silly. I love the way the teeth look, but I am afraid that I will never be able to talk right again. I had the first appointment with my dentist two days ago, is it too soon for me to be able to speak normally? Is this something I will get used to, and see improvement over time? Do the teeth need more adjusting? Or do I need speech therapy?

Why do I have persistent bad breath and how to treat it?

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from chronic bad breath, and I do not know what to do. I brush, floss, and rinse twice daily, and I even scrape my tongue, but there is still a white coating on my tongue.

Please help.

Can antifungal agents, probiotics, and saltwater gargling help manage oral thrush?

Hello doctor,

I have noticed some pimples on the back of my tongue for almost a month. I thought they would go away on their own, but they have not. I tried gargling with salt water. I have a sore throat at times, and I also have halitosis. I have tried brushing my tongue, but the white substance forms again after a few hours of brushing.

Please help.

Thank you.
