What causes low sodium levels in the blood in a 61-year-old?

Hello doctor,

One of my relative is 61-year-old and was diagnosed with lymphoma last year. He had chemotherapy and radiation for around seven months, and his previous PET scan four months ago showed no signs of cancer. He was good until last month's end. This month, his sodium level dropped, and he had a fever intermittently. He started to lose his memory. The doctor suggested giving sodium through IV (intravenously). His sodium level was around 115 mEq/L. He is getting a fever with shivers when the IV is removed. The sodium count now is 129 mEq/L. I would like to know the possible cause of sodium drop and what can be done. Kindly suggest.

Please give a second opinion regarding the course of tablet Temozolomide?

Hi doctor,

I had brain surgery four and half months ago after receiving a biopsy report (WHO grade II), followed by radiotherapy and tablet Temozolomide 120 mg during therapy. Also, I am taking five days dose of 300 mg tablet Temozolomide every 28 days as per the prescription. But, after my last cycle of five days, I suffered from fever continuously, and then I did not take it, and all is fine now. So, can you please give me a second opinion regarding the tablet Temozolomide course?

Thank you.

My doctor advised stopping radiotherapy until the coronavirus pandemic is over. What should I do?

Hi doctor,

I had a tumor in the uterus, and I was admitted to the hospital last month, and successfully uterus, fallopian tube, lymph nodes were removed. The biopsy report came after a week. It says a tumor involving more than 50 percent of the myometrium's thickness, lymphovascular space invasion present, FIGO: STAGE II. Doctor advised for IMRT, and we completed 12 days. But now, due to the pandemic situation doctor advised not to come to the hospital. Doctor advised that we can finish the next 13 days sitting once this pandemic is over. I am worried that if we stop in between, it will impact the later stage because I am diabetic and have BP. Can you please give me a clear direction? Should I continue the IMRT, or considering the current situation, should I stop for a while?
