Am I having temporary pain or just sensitivity in my upper front teeth?

Hello doctor,

My front upper right tooth spontaneously became extremely sensitive to heat yesterday while drinking hot liquid in the middle of the day. Shortly after, it became painful, primarily when touched or biting. I can also feel some throbbing from the root or gum. Today it is still painful. I am not sure what I could have done, I always brush the area twice a day so I would be surprised if there were decay. I have minor gum recession above the tooth in question. I also had panoramic and 3D X-rays taken a couple of weeks ago for my wisdom teeth, and the images did not display anything unusual going on in the front teeth. I have not bitten anything hard or consciously done any damage to it. What could be going on? Is this just temporary pain or sensitivity?

I have gap in front teeth. Is frenectomy enough or are braces necessary to close it?

Hello doctor,

I am scheduled to receive a frenectomy to close the gap in my two front teeth, but I have done some research and it has all told me I need to get braces following the procedure but my dentist told me it was not necessary although my gap is quite large. I was wondering if you could help me understand the process more. Thank you.

How to verify if surgeon has performed correct root extraction and implant placement?

Hello doctor,

I went through root extraction and immediate implant surgery of my front tooth. I am 29 years old, working woman and worried about the aesthetic part of the final dental implant. If the implant is placed too deep in the bone the final tooth might appear longer than other. How to verify if the surgeon has performed correct root extraction that will not lead to cosmetic failure. Also, what is the possibility of rectification?

I have six cavities building up in spite of proper dental care. Are my teeth inherently weak?

Hello doctor,

I have done proper dental care as followed by norms since childhood but was diagnosed with two root canals when I was 15, only one root canal had reached the surface. Now I am 18, and my recent visit to a dentist revealed that I have six cavities building up (one of my root canals has still not surfaced). I do not know where I am going wrong. Is it possible that my teeth are inherently weak and need more care? What should I do?
