Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My most recent period occurred recently. After that I engaged in sexual activity. Approximately two days later, I noticed light reddish-brown spotting. When I touch the affected area, I can
feel the spotting, and I have also been experiencing severe abdominal cramps. My usual menstrual cycle spans between 30 to 33 days. I have encountered difficulties in spreading or straining my legs, even when using the toilet. The reddish discharge appears as a small discharge, and I can feel it when I touch the area. I have been experiencing this for six days now. Could these symptoms potentially affect my regular menstrual cycle?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
It can be very uncomfortable when you are unable to carry out your daily activities due to pain. I had like to clarify that any unprotected intercourse carries the risk of pregnancy. So, we should wait, which is the expected date of your next period. If it is missed, we will need to perform tests to rule out pregnancy. The pain and spotting from the vaginal area may result from physical contact with your partner, and if there is any noticeable swelling, it should be examined physically. If the abdominal pain is mild, it may be due to muscle stretching, but if the pain is severe, we should consider tests like an ultrasound to rule out other potential causes, especially if it is accompanied by vomiting or loss of appetite. If you are experiencing a burning sensation while urinating, it might be indicative of a urinary tract infection, which can be addressed accordingly. As for your menstrual cycle, we can only provide an explanation once your expected period date has passed. For now, we should wait and observe.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
We used a condom, so we had protected sex. I do not experience any itching, burning during urination, or vomiting tendencies. My primary symptoms are severe pain and the presence of blood spotting. Is this condition treatable, or do I need medication for a potential infection?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Severe pain and blood spotting are concerning symptoms, and a thorough examination is necessary to determine if there is any injury near the vaginal area. Such intense pain is not typically expected. I strongly recommend seeking a physical examination if possible. In the meantime, to alleviate the pain, you can consider taking a medication called tablet Emanzen D (Diclofenac sodium) twice a day. If your condition does not improve with this medication, it is crucial to seek immediate medical attention. Once more, thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.
