Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having unexplained pain in the left lower quadrant of the abdomen. It first appeared at the crease of the left leg and at the top of the pubic bone, two inches below the left of the navel, and in the perineum area beneath the scrotum. The family doctor suspected a hernia; no bulge was found. He suggested stopping weight training. I had the Whipple procedure and that does not feel like adhesions tearing. Symptoms went away and came back. (I had carefully resumed weight training). Pain is not affected much by exercise or running or diet. Rating the pain 2 out of 10 on the pain scale, not a throbbing type of pain, mostly always present. The doctor suspects a hernia at the leg crease. I had a CT scan today. What are the likely possibilities?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sorry to hear about your suffering.

Lower left tummy pain could be due to many causes like diverticulosis (associated with constipation), muscle sprain (increase with movement), renal colic (middle ureter stones cause similar pain that comes and goes), or colonic spasms.

Most likely, it is a muscle sprain as it is related to exercise.

Please share the results of the investigations and let me know if you have any constipation or urinary symptoms like burning urination or a change in urine color.

In case of a confirmed muscle sprain, local Deep Heat cream (Menthol and Eucalyptus oil) and painkillers will be helpful.

I wish you all well being.

Your feedback will be appreciated.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
