Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My 14-year-old son has been experiencing horrible stomach cramps, primarily at night (4-5 times a week). Sometimes they occur during the day, but mostly at night. He is 5 feet 6 inch tall and weighs 140 lbs.
Hi,
Welcome to iCliniq.com.
I can understand your concern about your son's symptoms.
Most likely, he has a worm infestation. He should have a stool routine examination done for cysts and ova. He should be dewormed with Tablet Bandy Plus (albendazole and ivermectin combination) at bedtime, once, and another dose should be repeated after two weeks.
For immediate pain relief, you should get prescribed an antispasmodic like
Tablet Dicyclomine 20 half a tablet.
Hyoscine 10 milligrams half a tablet.
Hyoscyamine 0.1 milligrams whenever needed up to three times a day.
Hope this helps, and get back if you have any doubts.
Thank you for consulting me. You can always come back and reach me at iCliniq.com.
