Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I missed my period by three weeks, I did a pregnancy test five times to be sure and it was positive, so I took abortion pills. I took both by swallowing, and insertion into the vagina, and under the tongue but, still I did not feel anything. I did not even feel a common cramp or bleeding but felt the flushing of the pregnancy, I still feel normal whereas I have taken so many drugs. I cannot feel anything. What is really happening?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It would be better if you describe some of your medical, obstetrics, gynecology, and drug history as well. Which medications you have taken and what dosage as well would be better to guide you? Too many hormonal medications can interact with individual personal hormonal imbalances and can give side effects as well. I suggest having one serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) which is a blood pregnancy test to check the exact status of pregnancy. Beta human chorionic gonadotropin level can give a guide about how many weeks pregnant you are. If bleeding starts or cramps continue, you can have another serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin to check after 48 hours to know if either pregnancy is growing or vanishing or any other alarming condition like ectopic pregnancy (outside the uterus). If in 48 hours beta human chorionic gonadotropin shows a reduction from the first reading then it is induced miscarriage. If beta human chorionic gonadotropin shows an increase in its level to less than 60 % then it is alarming pregnancy could be outside the uterus. But if it shows an increase in beta human chorionic gonadotropin for the second time to more than 60% from the first level then it is a normal pregnancy. As already you have taken medications in case of dizziness, fainting, bleeding, or cramps better to report tertiary care hospital emergency. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
