Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I missed my period last month, and I also used PT as a reference, and it was all positive. I went to a doctor yesterday to have a transvaginal ultrasound. But the report said negative. Why so? I have had delayed periods for a few months. Two months back, my period was delayed for ten days.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

You must take a few blood tests (serum testosterone, serum prolactin, serum progesterone, serum insulin, and thyroid function test) for proper diagnosis. It is always better to confirm pregnancy with a blood pregnancy test (serum beta hCG) as this would be better to have a clear idea of the pregnancy status. If it comes negative, then there is no chance of pregnancy. To regulate cycles, have combined oral contraceptive pills for three cycles. You can consult your specialist doctor and take medications with their consent.

I suggest the following.

1. Walk daily for 30 minutes.

2. Try to reduce weight if you are overweight.

3. Have a healthy diet with less salt, sugar, spice, and oil.

4. Quit recreational drugs.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
