Can a combination of antibiotics, topical retinoids, along with subcision and derma roller treatments help overcome acne and scars?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your query and concerns and examined your picture (attachments removed to protect patient’s identity). It appears that you have both active acne and acne scars. Firstly, you should seek treatment for the active acne before addressing the scars. You can use Clindamycin gel in the morning and Adapalene gel at night, along with taking one capsule of Doxycycline 100 mg daily for six weeks. Once the acne is under control, you can then focus on treating the acne scars.

It seems you have both ice-pick scars and rolling-type acne scars. There are various techniques for treating acne scars, including subcision and derma roller. Subcision involves lifting the scars by cutting the underlying fibrous bands using hypodermic needles. You can then use a derma-roller to stimulate the underlying collagen. Another option is the CO2 pixel laser treatment. You can also try a Dimethicone and Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Gel or Allantoin gel twice daily. Here is the recommended method of application: Clean the affected area with water and dry it, gently apply a thin layer of the gel, let it dry for at least four to five minutes, and use it continuously for a minimum of eight weeks. Please make sure to use all medications after consulting with your general practitioner or a nearby dermatologist.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
