How to manage forehead acne?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had forehead acne for two years and my age is 17. How can it be treated? I have used many natural remedies but they do not have much effect. Please suggest some healthy food and remedies for it and also suggest a facewash for it.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Acne is a common skin condition in teenagers and adults. Relax and make yourself stress-free as stress is a big contributing factor to acne. The cause could be hormonal, stress-induced, genetics, certain medications, exposure to dust or pollutants, overactive sebaceous glands, etc.

I suggest you follow an appropriate skincare routine. These include:

  1. Wash your face with Saslic DS face wash twice daily for two weeks.

  2. Apply antibiotic Nadifloxacin (fluoroquinolone) cream twice daily in the morning and evening for two weeks.

  3. Apply Benzac AC 2.5 percent (antimicrobial) cream at night for two weeks.

  4. Do not pop pimples.

  5. Avoid skin products that sting or burn on application.

  6. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and omega-3 fatty acids.

  7. Avoid spicy, junk, and oily food.

  8. Avoid excess intake of dairy products and chocolates.

  9. Follow up after two weeks.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
