Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 15-year-old kid has ADHD, PTSD, general sadness, general anxiety, and psychosis but has not been treated for the previous four years. He has had a lot of issues with him playing in his feces. He puts it on his fingers and rubs it all over his room. The issue existed when he was on Risperdal for his psychosis. Is it possible to restart him on the Risperdal to resolve this issue? Is there another drug that might assist him? Because we do want to hospitalize him. He only does this in his room at home. He is currently on Prozac 20 mg, Abilify, Adderall XR 30 mg in the morning, and tablet. Adderall 20 mg.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you mentioned, your son suffers from ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and psychosis. I would like to know who made these diagnoses. Have you been advised of all of these diagnoses by your psychiatrist? Because all of these disorders in one child are quite rare. Even though you have said that your child routinely plays with feces, particularly in the room. This might be because of behavioral concerns. He is also now taking a lot of medicines. I would suggest that you already give him any necessary medication. I am not sure about the psychotic aspect. You may continue to take tablet Adderall (Dextroamphetamine - Amphetamine) at night for the ADHD part. All of these drugs will do more damage than good. I would advise you to take your son to a psychologist and start behavioral treatment right now.

Revert with the answer to assist further.

Thank you and take care.
