Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is good that you quit alcohol, as this is a very positive step for your long-term health.

However, the digestive problems you are experiencing, such as loose stools, heaviness in the stomach, delayed digestion, and weakness, are quite common after stopping alcohol, especially if you had been drinking regularly for a long time.

Alcohol can damage the stomach lining, liver, pancreas, and intestinal balance, which affects digestion and nutrient absorption. After quitting, your digestive system takes time to heal, and you may temporarily experience irregular bowel movements or slow digestion.

Weakness can also result from vitamin deficiencies (especially B vitamins) or mild dehydration. To help your recovery, I suggest the following:

  1. Eat light, easily digestible meals such as rice, boiled vegetables, curd, and soups.

  2. Avoid oily, spicy, and fried foods.

  3. Drink plenty of water.

  4. Include probiotic foods like yogurt or buttermilk to restore healthy gut bacteria.

Also, consider taking a multivitamin containing B-complex and zinc after consulting your doctor. If your weight of 75 lbs seems accurate, it is quite low for your height, and you may need a medical evaluation for malnutrition, liver function, or chronic infection.

It would be wise to visit a gastroenterologist for blood tests, liver function tests, and stool examination to rule out any lasting digestive or nutritional issues related to prior alcohol use.

Please follow up for more queries.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
