Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My left arm is paining on walking and I think it is angina. Every time I walk I feel the heaviness in my left arm and pain as well. Nowadays I am noticing left arm pain on walking or doing brisk walking. The pain will be there if I walk for 30 minutes. I am really worried if this is angina or heart-related. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. At your age it is highly unlikely that you may have cardiac issue. Arm pain can be musculoskeletal also. I want you to answer few questions. Do you have any family history of cardiac condition? Do you feel chest pain or chest tightness while walking? What is your blood sugar and blood pressure status? Do you smoke or use recreational drugs? To rule out any cardiac disease, I would advise you to get a stress echocardiogram to confirm. Kindly revert back with the answers. Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Only my left arm is paining while walking no other discomfort is present. I can walk with no other problems like breathlessness or excessive sweating. My parents had blood pressure issues but they developed them after 50 years of age. I have never smoked or taken drugs. I am working nine hours shifts on computers and several times I get shooting upper back pain while working continuously.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your left arm pain is likely due to muscular pain or neuropathic pain from your neck or shoulder. I would advise you to get an electrocardiogram (ECG) done to rule out the cardiac issue, but this does not look like a cardiac problem. Do not panic, relax, and get an orthopedic consultation, you will be fine.

Patient's Query

HI doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I am getting so much anxious because of this issue and read so many articles on angina as well. You really helped. I have attached the ECG report.
