How to relieve my left arm pain due to acidity?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 31 years old. I am a diabetic and on medication. I have had a gastric problem for three years. Now I have left arm and chest pain. I did everything like TMT, echo, ECG, etc., but all reports are negative. No problem in the heart.

Last month, I also did an ECG, and the report was normal. And I consulted a physician, who told me my ECG is completely normal. You do not have any heart problems, and she has prescribed some medication.

But now, I am facing heartburn and vomiting. I also have arm pain, uneasiness, and stomach pain. Now, should I take gastric medicine or go for an ECG? I also take Cyclopam (Escitalopram) tablet. Can I take that medicine?

Please reply.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, you can take gastric medicine and see if there is some relief because sometimes heartburn and those things can be caused by acidity or gastric reflux disease.

If it is due to that, then you can take tablet Omeprazole 40 mg once daily before a meal for three days, tablet Roxatidine 75 mg twice a day for three days after a meal. Surely you will see improvement if it is due to acidity or reflux. Take Cyclopam when you have pain, only if needed.

Review after five days.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
