Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

One of my friends recently pointed out that my pupils are sometimes uneven. I searched and got many scary possibilities. However, I did look at pictures from years ago and noticed different degrees of anisocoria. Now that someone has pointed it out, I obsess over it and see it a lot. It only happens periodically (at various times during the day), no other symptoms. What could cause anisocoria that is occasional and been going on at least three years as indicated by pictures? I am on medications for gastroparesis and generalized anxiety like Zofran, Phenergan, Pantoprazole, and Paxil. I read Paxil could potentially cause anisocoria.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are different pathological causes of anisocoria, as you mentioned that you are taking medications, including Paxil (Paroxetine). It means drug levels are changed in blood and its effect on pupil size. If you are not having any problem, there is nothing to worry about as you know that its due to drugs or medications you are taking. If you notice any other changes like blurred vision, severe headache, or any neurological defect, then you should consult your doctor. You are alright and do not worry about scarce things. Just relax and enjoy life. You are most welcome for any queries.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
