What causes palpitations and panic attacks during pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 17 weeks pregnant. I have been having palpitations and panic attacks for 15 days. I also feel dizzy. I got an ECG done, and my doctor suggested everything was normal. Currently, I am using calcium, iron, and vitamin tablets. What is the reason for the discomfort? Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If the ECG (echocardiogram) is normal, there is nothing to worry about. I suggest you get an ultrasound of the abdomen. You seem to have anxiety. I suggest you drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated.

I hope this helps.

Please revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
