Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My nr-axSpA (non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis) is hurting me. The pain in my back and hips is unbearable, and NSAIDs are not helping much. Morning stiffness lasts for hours, and I can barely get up. I had to quit my job because of this. Are there other options? I heard about biological therapies. Could that work for me? I am desperate for relief. What should a 35-year-old guy expect from treatment?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
For effective pain relief, consider medication adjustments like biologics, which target inflammation and can significantly improve mobility and reduce stiffness. Physical therapy tailored to your needs can enhance flexibility and strengthen muscles around your joints. Incorporating regular low-impact exercise, such as swimming or cycling, along with good posture, can also alleviate discomfort. Alternative medications, including disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs and corticosteroids may provide additional support during flare-ups.
Mind-body techniques like yoga or meditation can help manage stress and enhance mental well-being. Joining support groups allows you to connect with others who share similar experiences, offering emotional support and practical advice. Regular check-ins with your healthcare provider are crucial to monitor your condition and adjust treatments as necessary. Remember, you are not alone, and there are ways to improve your situation.
I hope you got an answer.
Please let me know if you need any further help.
Thank you.
