Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have attached the analysis of a report. Please advise if this is obstructive or non-obstructive azoospermia. What type of biopsy will be required? Is there any type of medicine that can be used?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. From the reports (image hidden to protect the identity of the patient), it appears to be obstructive azoospermia. However, reports alone are never sufficient to make the diagnosis. It needs to be interpreted in conjunction with local examination findings. Your doctor will do that and decide the mode of treatment. If it is obstructive azoospermia and epididymis is palpable, retrieving sperms through TESA (testicular sperm aspiration) and going for ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is the best option. There is a possibility of Sertoli cell-only syndrome, where such findings can sometimes be present even in nonobstructive azoospermia. TESA, TESE, or ICSI will be required in that case. Your doctor is the best judge in either case.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
