Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have two questions. Is there anything you recommend to clean the tongue? I get white spots on my tongue and it is hard to clean the back of my tongue due to gagging easily. Is that something that needs a prescription from a dentist because I suffer from bad breath?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

First, we only use a tongue cleaner to clean a tongue that is made up of steel or plastic. Whenever you clean your tongue just breathe with your nose only and concentrate on something else but do not think about gagging. This will help you. Visit a dentist soon and get your tongue checked and get your teeth cleaned for treating bad breath. No prescription is needed. But to treat bad breath there are some medicines too. And if you want to treat bad breath then just follow this.

1. Maintain oral hygiene properly and use mouthwash after brushing twice a day.

2. Rinse your mouth with water after every meal.

3. Spray or chew mouth freshener after every meal.

4. Avoid spicy food, especially garlic and onions.

5. Brush at night before bedtime if necessary.

6. Once visit a doctor to get your blood checked.

Thank you.
