This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a burning sensation and inflammation in my penis. My penis head color is black or blue. In the morning it is more red. Why so?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please help me with a few details so that I can assist you with your issue:

  1. Are you diabetic or hypertensive?
  2. Have you had any surgeries in the past?
  3. Are you circumcised?
  4. Do you have any difficulty in passing urine, such as urgency, increased frequency, feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, or straining to pee?
  5. Do you have any pain after ejaculation?
  6. Are you sexually active? If yes, is it with a single partner?

Please revert back with the details and upload some photos of the affected area so that I can have a look.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Here are the answers to your questions.

  1. No, I am not diabetic.
  2. I have not had any surgeries.
  3. I have been circumcised.
  4. My penis leaks after I urinate.
  5. I do not have any pain after ejaculation.
  6. No, I am not sexually active.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Firstly, with regard to the discoloration on your penis. I think it is due to you probably having a condition called BXO (for which circumcision was done). Which often leaves these black-and-white areas. Is that the case? Was your circumcision done in the recent past because of the inability to retract the penile skin? Was there a whitish area around the skin back then? I also see some bad scarring around the shaft and a skin tag on the top part of the penis between the corona and the shaft. This may cause pain during erections (if that is something you have been having). The pain in ejaculation is most likely due to prostatitis, which is common in men who are not sexually active or do not ejaculate much and have prolonged hours of sitting.

I would recommend you undergo some basic tests (I do not know if this is something you can get done on your own or if you would require your prescription.

  1. Urine routine and microscopy.
  2. Semen culture and sensitivity.
  3. Uroflowmetry.
  4. Ultrasound KUB with post-void residue.

Depending on the results, I would recommend some medication to improve your symptoms.

I hope this helps.
