Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a birthmark on the left-hand side of my face around or near my eye. Not too big in size. I do not know the name of the particular birthmark but it is brown in color. With and without insurance, how much would it cost to get the birthmark lasered? How many sessions would I need? How long is the healing process in between each session? Would it leave a scar?
If this is not an option or if there are better alternatives, such as creams, what kind of birthmark removal creams do you recommend for my kind of birthmark? Do they work? How long would it take for it to fade when using the cream properly?
Hi,
I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.
I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.
It would have been better if you could attach pictures of your lesion for proper diagnosis and treatment. From your description, it could be a port wine stain or maybe congenital melanocytic nevus. For its treatment, lasers are available like pulsed dye laser, an alexandrite laser, etc. Its price varies in different countries. But usually considered to be an expensive procedure. six to eight sessions are usually required but can vary according to the lesion. Lasers can have side effects if not properly performed like scarring, etc., but in the majority, it has good results. There is no such cream that can fade birthmarks. The only treatment option is a laser.
