Why am I experiencing pain and blood in my urine?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
There are red drops and blood in my urine today, as well as it happens once in a while after I finish passing my urine. I have some pain.
Please suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query and can understand your concern.
You are complaining about a blood clot in the urine for the first time. At present, after completely voiding urine, the last drop is blood, which is very painful. It occurs once in a while, but you are unable to tolerate the pain as the intensity of the pain is severe.
-
The causes are any obstacles in the urethra, which can come from the upper side, that is, the kidney. It can be a tiny blood clot or embolus or a tiny stone. During voiding urine, they are forced to the lower side. This forces the inner layer of the urethra to be damaged, and when anything comes out forcefully, it damages the urethra, so blood or a blood clot comes out, causing intense pain with blood.
-
A urinary bladder stone with rough or irregular edges can continuously irritate the inner lining of the bladder, leading to bleeding. In some cases, the stone may try to pass forcefully, causing pain and further injury.
-
My advice is to take ultrasonography of the KUB (kidney, ureter, and bladder) region, examine urine, and complete microscopic examination with culture and sensitivity.

The treatment advised is taking a tablet of Urospas (an antispasmodic), one tablet in the morning and one tablet at night after meals. It helps to reduce intense pain. Take Injection Voveran, one ampule, intramuscularly. It reduces the pain within 10 to 15 minutes. Citralka liquid, two teaspoons mixed with half a glass of water, can be taken after breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a tablet of Cefexime can be taken. It prevents infection of residual urine in the bladder.
I hope this answers your query.
Let me know if I need to assist you further.
Thank you.
