Can a change in body temperature be a cause of concern?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

In the morning and during the day, my temperature goes to about 35.6 to 36 degrees Celsius, but during evenings and nights, it goes from 37 to 37.4 degrees Celsius. Does it mean anything, or should I be concerned?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is not uncommon for body temperature to fluctuate throughout the day, with temperatures typically being lower in the morning and higher in the evening. Generally, a normal body temperature ranges from 36.5 degrees Celsius to 37.5 degrees Celsius. Your body temperature is within the normal range, which is not a cause for concern. If you are concerned about your temperature, you can use a digital thermometer to monitor it more closely. Following the manufacturer's instructions for proper use and cleaning is essential to ensure accurate readings. It is usual for body temperature to fluctuate throughout the day, and your temperature is within the normal range. However, if you notice any concerning symptoms or if your fever persists for more than a few days, it is essential to consult with a doctor.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
