Hello doctor,

I underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan last week. The doctor told me today that I needed to be referred to a neurologist. My reports stated I had four white matter foci on my frontal lobes. I want a better understanding of my problem. I have attached my MRI report.

I can see four right frontal lobe non-specific white matter foci from the attached reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The radiologist has reported them non-specific because they are not pointing toward any specific disease. Such white matter foci can be found in the brain of a normal individual and are more commonly seen in old age, hypertension, and diabetes.

I have had several MRIs done, and this is the first time it has shown. Are the other findings on my MRI reports suggestive of traumatic brain injury (TBI)?

Even if they are seen for the first time, they do not point toward any specific disease. You do not have to take any medicines for the same. I suggest you get your routine investigations like sugar and lipid profile done. Please maintain your blood pressure (BP) in the normal range.
