Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My grandmother had a radical modified mastectomy for stage 2B invasive carcinoma. I am attaching her biopsy reports. She had been advised to undergo radiation therapy and hormonal therapy. We need a second opinion on radiation therapy.
Is it good to do radiation therapy at this stage?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
I went through her reports (the attachments were removed to protect the patient's identity). Any breast cancer with lymph node metastasis and perineural or lymphovascular invasion needs radiotherapy. If she omits radiotherapy, the risk of recurrence will increase.
In case she has co-morbidities like chronic disease or any other chronic condition, I suggest a complete evaluation of each co-morbidity before planning for radiotherapy.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
