Cephalosporin.

Cephalosporins are antibiotics derived from Acremonium fungus. They are used to treat infections of the skin, bone, urinary tract, and bones. They simulate Penicillin in their mechanism of action. The first generation of these beta-lactam antibiotics are active against gram-positive organisms. Successive generations are effective against gram-negative organisms with reduced effect against gram-positive bacteria. Adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, electrolyte imbalance, and rashes.
