How to treat post-menopausal cervical cancer therapy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 64-year-old woman who has been diagnosed with cervical cancer L1B1. I had sudden bleeding and immediately went for a checkup. I had menopause 10 years back. Currently, I have high blood pressure and cholesterol.

What treatment should be taken for this condition?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the attachment (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It shows that the cervix is involved with stromal invasion in the endometrial biopsy. The dysplastic cells are seen in the endometrium. As you have crossed menopause, radical treatment can be planned out. It is seen in the report that there is no blood invasion.

So scans have to be done to know if there are any secondary infections in the body, either in the peritoneum or in the liver or lungs. Proper treatment can be planned out after the report.

I hope this helps. Kindly revert if there are any queries.
