Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 32-year-old male. My main concern is mild but frequent chest discomfort. Symptoms include minor chest pain occurring multiple times a day, ongoing for the last four months. Pain is not sharp, more like discomfort or mild pressure. I noticed increased breathing or effort while lifting objects. Unusual exhaling pattern at times (feels like the breath is not flowing naturally). No major pain radiating to arms or jaw, no severe sweating or dizziness.
Additional Notes:
No known heart conditions in the past.
No major changes in diet or physical activity recently.
Sometimes anxious or under stress.
Not on any regular medication, only have Cetirizine every day.
Objective: Want to rule out any cardiac or respiratory-related cause and understand if this requires further testing like ECG, ECHO, or chest X-ray.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
The symptoms you have described make cardiac pain less likely. As you have rightly said, it would be a diffuse chest pain, radiating to the shoulder, neck, and left arm. The pain would be associated with chest heaviness and sweating and would increase with activity or exertion.
I would still recommend visiting a cardiologist in person and getting an ECG (electrocardiogram) done. Depending on your examination and ECG results, further labs may be advised to rule out any cardiac issues.
Please let me know if you need to know anything else, and we would be happy to answer.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Thank you.
