Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have been feeling palpitations in my heart. I have been diagnosed with SVT. I had the EP and RFA procedure done last month. The operation was not successful. After the process, I sometimes have high beats per minute of about 180 to 190 and chest heaviness. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Due to unsuccessful RFA (radiofrequency ablation), you are still having SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) episodes resulting in palpitations. Continue taking medicines. Please talk to your cardiologist about attempting ablation. Let me check your reports, and I will get back to you.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
Do I need to go again through an ablation procedure through a cryo balloon? Do the reports suggest the same? Should I continue taking the same medicine and dose? Finally, my operation was a few days back. How long should I wait before the following procedure?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Your ECG (electrocardiogram) shows preexcitation, but the ECG does not display later. Holter shows wide complex tachycardia, suggesting it may be partially successful ablation. We usually prescribe Verapamil for SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). Sotalol has side effects. If tachycardia persists despite medicines, then it may need re-ablation.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
