Patient's Query
Hello doctor
I have been having fast heartbeats and I feel burning in my chest and on the left side of my body and it hurts.
What do you think is going on with my body?
The doctor I saw told me I have a heart disease.
I am really worried. I need your help.
Thank you.
Hello
I am glad you came to icliniq.com.
I can tell you are really worried about your health.
You should take your symptoms of heartbeat burning in your chest and pain on the left side of your body very seriously.
These symptoms do not mean you have heart disease for sure.
There are things that can cause these symptoms so we need to figure out what is really going on.
At your age which's 33 there are several things that can cause these symptoms, such as
* Heart rhythm problems
* Anxiety
* Acid reflux, like when you have gastroesophageal reflux disease
* Muscle or chest wall pain
*. Sometimes it can be coronary artery disease but that is not as common
Sometimes when you are stressed or do not get enough sleep it can also make your heart beat fast and your chest feel uncomfortable.
Just doing a health test on a computer is not enough to figure out if you have a heart condition.
If your doctor thinks you might have heart disease you need to have a medical checkup, which might include
* An electrocardiogram to check your heart rhythm
* A blood pressure test
* Blood tests
* And an echocardiogram or a Holter monitor to see how your heart beats over a day or two
You might need to do more tests depending on what your symptoms are and what your medical history is.
You should go to the hospital away
* If you have bad chest pain
* If you are having Shortness of breath
* If you feel like you are going to pass out
* If you are sweating a lot
* If your pain is moving to your jaw, neck or arm
If none of these things are happening you should make an appointment, with a cardiologist, which's a doctor who specializes in hearts so you can get a thorough checkup and find out what is really going on with your body.
I hope this helps you with your question.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me.
I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
