How to diagnose and treat chlamydia infection?

Hello doctor,
I was a virgin who recently had sex for the first time with my girlfriend, who has had sex before. I started experiencing symptoms of chlamydia and tested positive. After this, my girlfriend got tested twice but both results came back negative. What is going on? I currently do not have any symptoms, as I have been treated with antibiotics. We have not had sex since. I am wondering if I could have contracted the infection in any other way besides having sex with her (since I was a virgin before her), or if it is possible for her to have it but still test negative. Should she get tested for a third time, or will it not make a difference in the results? Should she consider taking antibiotics even though she is still testing negative?

This needs proper evaluation. It can be done after local examination and with references to reports. The report says IgM (immunoglobulin M) positive (present infection) or IgG positive (infection in the past). It needs to be seen. As chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection only. It is possible that she had an infection in the past or there was an active infection when she was with you in a relationship as you say she has a history of multiple partners.
So it is possible that your partner spread this infection.
