Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have been taking Clomid and Letrozole for two months. I had 24 mm and 23 mm follicles on the 12th-day scan and took a trigger shot. But there is no pregnancy. Please advise.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Well, I am deeply concerned about worries. Let me explain to you.
Clomid and Letrozole are the first choice for ovulation induction which can be taken for two to six days and then we start doing follicle tracing ultrasound on days 12 and 13. If the maximum follicle is 18 to 22 mm, then we will have a trigger shot and HCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin). Then we tell the couple to perform intercourse within 72 hours. If your maximum follicles are 23 to 24 mm, it means it is an excellent size of follicles even if the pregnancy did not occur. Repeat the process as the maximum you can take up to 12 cycles of ovulation induction even if it did not succeed.
Then the second choice is gonadotropin-releasing hormones and we can give up to 12 cycles if it does not give success when we take. The next choice is IUI (Intrauterine insemination) which we can do for six cycles. If no success occurs, we will go for IVF (in vitro fertilization). IVF is done according to the age of the patient. At less than 37 years of age, we take IVF for three cycles with or without ovulation induction. If the age is 37 to 39 years, we can take IVF for three cycles with or without ovulation. If the age is 40 to 42 years, we can take IVF for one cycle with or without ovulation induction. As your follicles' growth size is good I will advise you to repeat the process. I wish that pregnancy would take place. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would appreciate it if you could give your feedback.
I hope this helps.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you and take care.
