What could be the cause of the persistant cold and greenish mucus cough?

Hi doctor,

I am very concerned about my daughter. She is suffering from fever, cold, and severe productive cough with greenish mucus for the past six days. Initially, she was suffering from a high fever of 101 to 103 degrees. So, I gave her syrup Paracetamol 5 ml, syrup Montek LC 5 ml, syrup Ascoril 5 ml, syrup Cefixime 5 ml. But after giving syrup Paracetamol 5 ml her fever reduces to 100.1 degrees but her cough and cold persists along with body pain, leg pain, and stomach pain. A few months back, she had a fever of 103 degrees with a cold and cough but her symptoms subsided after taking syrup Paracetamol 5 ml, syrup Montek LC 5 ml, syrup Ascoril 5 ml, syrup Cefixime 5 ml within a week. But this time, her symptoms persist and are more severe. What to do? Please help me.

I understand your concern. As per the information provided, your daughter is sick for the past five days and is on antibiotics and cough syrup and the fever subsided in two days. It seems like she is suffering from a viral infection with the six days history of illness and fever. So, I will recommend a few tests, a blood test with CBC (complete blood count) and CRP (C-reactive protein), a sputum examination test with a gram staining smear, and a chest X-ray posteroanterior view. And try to complete the course with the same medication for five days. And if completed then try to go for

Syrup Paracetamol (250 ml/5 ml) give 6 ml every four hours five times a day.
Syrup Brufen (200 ml/5 ml) give 5 ml, if the fever does not subside in one hour after using Syrup Paracetamol 5 ml. It can be given in three doses in a day with eight hours repeat.
Syrup Chlorhistol 5 ml has to be given every twelve hours for three days.
Pediatric nasal drops Otrivin has to be given two drops in each nostril every eight hours for three days.
