Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 19 years old, in the past few days, I have obtained red dots starting at the lower half of my face down to my chest. Some of the dots have whiteheads. I have always had incredibly clear skin, but I have about 50 dots. This has happened to me before and the first time I was prescribed Bactroban, which cleared it in about a week. And the second time I was prescribed Acnatac which also cleared it in about a week. I have started using Acnatac the last two days but there has been no change except a decrease in whiteheads.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms and pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity), I strongly believe you have developed a closed comedones acne or whitehead. Comedones are acne lesions that develop when hair follicles become clogged with oil (sebum), dead skin cells, and debris.
The cream you mentioned can only work for one week but will not eradicate it because the skin condition is not formed by bacteria, fungi, or virus organisms. So please discontinue all medications and use the following
1. Apply topical 2 percent Resorcinol twice daily.
2. Topical 0.1 percent tretinoin twice daily, 20 percent Azelaic acid every day, or 5 percent Dapsone gel daily for one month.
Get back if you have more concerns. I hope this helps
Thank you.
