Patient's Query

Hello Doctor,

I am a 22-year-old male, suffering from constipation at times. Last month, I also noticed blood in my stool which previously occurred last year. The blood was not mixed with stool but it is present after cleaning it. I also have acidity issues. I am concerned as I got constipated suddenly. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Based on the description, you are suffering from constipation and occasional bleeding with bowel movements. Regarding your red blood in stool, this can be caused by several factors such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, diverticulitis or other inflammatory conditions, or even certain infections. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
  2. Increase your fiber intake through foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
  3. Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine.
  4. Try to establish a regular bowel routine and avoid delaying the urge to have a bowel movement.
  5. Use of stool softeners or products such as lactulose syrup that can help with constipation

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
