Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My baby was delivered four and a half years ago; I got my period once after nine months of delivery and again this month. I did not get my period in between. We planned to prevent pregnancy, so the doctor prescribed me to take two tablets of Meprate per day for five days; now I am breastfeeding. Is it safe to take Meprate while breastfeeding?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.
Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) is not harmful to the baby at this age. Meprate can cause digestion problems in babies below six months old if the mother is breastfeeding.
My advice:
Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
