Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My partner and I had sex 24 hours back. We used a condom but while pulling out the penis, the condom slipped into her vagina, and a few drops of semen dropped on the bed. I checked the condom, and it was filled. We are contemplating on taking an abortion pill or not. However, my partner has been suffering from PCOS for the past six to seven years. She has been taking the tablet Norethisterone 5 milligrams for five days to regularize her period cycle. Should we still take the abortion pill or do the Norethisterone course?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
In your case, there are rare chances of getting pregnant. However, as she is not having a regular period cycle, I advise you not to take any risk. I suggest taking a tablet of Levonorgestrol (emergency contraceptive pill) 1.5 milligrams to prevent unwanted pregnancy. After 25 days of the pill consumption, you can go for a blood test. I also suggest you use condoms while having intercourse to prevent pregnancy and any infection.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
Should she still take the tablet Norethisterone as well after the abortion pill?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If she did not get periods after the abortion pill then after 25 days with the confirmation of pregnancy, I suggest she take a tablet of Norethisterone (synthetic progestin).
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
