Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am diagnosed with COPD. My symptoms include a loss of appetite, a headache, a lack of energy, and weakness. My water consumption is minimal, and I consume pepsi or cola.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is composed of two parts. One with chronic coughing and phlegm, and the other with restrictive lung disease, where an interstitial lung disorder causes breathing difficulty. Her pulmonologist will prescribe the appropriate medication based on her X-rays and lung involvement. Her symptoms will improve once she feels better and can breathe better. Unfortunately, COPD patients will have hypoxemia (lack of oxygen) in their bloodstream, making them more susceptible to infections and feeling weak and tired throughout the day. Numerous treatment options are available, including (bronchodilators, beta-agonists, corticosteroids, anticholinergics, and prophylactic antibiotics), which can only be determined after auscultating the patient and viewing the patient's X-ray.

If it is possible for you, please upload the X-ray for better assessment and evaluation. She needs to follow a proper diet. She should take small but frequent meals and take fizzy drinks because they provide a good number of calories, rest well before each meal, and avoid spicy foods. You have to motivate her to eat. Also, give her vitamin supplements, one tablet daily before sleeping. This will boost her immunity to an extent.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
