Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
The patient is a 68-year-old male with coronary angiography findings of a dominant Left Circumflex (LCX) artery and 95 percent distal LCX stenosis. The obtuse marginal (OM) branch is normal.
Which one would you prefer before deciding how to manage the patient?
I am thankful for your valuable advice.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for sharing your coronary angiography report with me (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). The report shows moderate disease in one of your coronary arteries, called the LAD (left anterior descending artery), which currently requires medical management only.
The other dominant coronary artery, the LCX (left circumflex artery), has a severe narrowing of approximately 95% in its distal portion. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stent placement is recommended for the LCX, particularly if you continue to have symptoms despite optimal medical therapy. I hope this information is helpful.
Please reach out to me if you have any further questions. I would be happy to answer them.
Regards.
