Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My father has coronary artery disease. He has a blockage in three arteries, one artery is cured by putting stunt, but some other doctors tell to do bypass surgery, but my father is afraid of surgery. Is there any treatment without surgery?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the reports. There are two best available options for CAD (coronary artery disease) at present, one is a bypass, and the other is stenting. Other available options are not high and are only adopted is either is two is not possible. Considering multiple blockages, bypass remains the treatment of choice, however, if not willing for bypass then stenting is another reasonable good option. Sometimes we may not be able to open 100 percent blockages, but in those cases, we can keep him on medications for that as a blockage in the less critical vessel. He may undergo stenting as well, but stenting for such complicated lesions is tried in the higher center like PGIMER, etc. So, overall, if not willing to undergo bypass, then stenting may be a reasonable option and should be tried. I hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
