How to manage redness after mole removal laser surgery?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had mole removal surgery one month ago. I had a flat mole on the tip of my nose. At that time, I did not have enough knowledge and thought it would be removed with a laser. However, it was removed, leaving a small wound.

After one month, the wound had completely healed, but there was still some redness in that area.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have developed post-laser skin dermatitis. I do not think it is something serious. However, I advise you to use the following treatments:

Topical 0.2 percent Tacrolimus(immunosuppressant) cream.

Topical ointment 0.05 percent Clobetasol (corticosteroid) (once daily).

0.2 percent Hydrocortisone (corticosteroid) cream (twice daily for one month).

Kindly consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further concerns or questions. You can schedule a direct appointment or follow up via chat, phone, or video consultation.

Thank you.
