Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am an 19-year-old female, and I have dark spots on my private parts, legs, fingers, and ankles. These spots are hard, dark, and dry, making my skin feel rough instead of soft. Additionally, my neck, lips, and under-eye area are quite dark. I have taken great care of my skin, but nothing seems to help. I am looking for a permanent solution for a glow-up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Please guide.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
It is completely understandable to feel worried about darkening in multiple areas. However, the pattern you are describing is very common among young women and is usually linked to treatable conditions such as friction, dryness, hormonal influences, genetic pigmentation, mild eczema, or acanthosis nigricans.
To provide an accurate diagnosis, I will need a clear picture of the affected areas, as well as your fasting blood sugar and serum iron levels, if possible, as both are linked to hyperpigmentation.
In the meantime, I will prescribe certain medications to help with the pigmentation.
Using sunblock (sunscreen) is very important in your case. Please apply it to your hands, feet, face, and even under your eyes, and reapply every four hours until the evening.
For body whitening on specific areas such as your hands or knuckles, mix equal parts of Alpha Glow (Hydroquinone, Tretinoin) cream with Cilix (Mometasone, Tretinoin) cream and apply it at bedtime only.
Make sure to use a moisturizer 20 minutes before applying this mixture; If you have an iron deficiency, it is important to correct it and try to maintain a healthy weight.
For your face, you can use Melaneez (Hydroquinone, Tretinoin) cream or Rejumax (Azelaic Acid, Nicotinamide) cream at bedtime.
I hope I have addressed all your questions. If there is anything else, please let me know.
Thank you.
