Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I do not have any interest in my life. I want to remain alone. I have not met with my friends and relatives for the last five years. I do not know how to manage proper communication, and feel disgusted when someone points it out to me. I am too worried and also feel suicidal but never attempted and do not have any intention further. Is it serious or do I just feel stress due to my poor income or low status or not being successful?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I read your query and understand your concern. Kindly screen yourself for clinical depression. Do a self-rating test of depression like Zung's self-rating depression scale which you can easily find online and if it is indicative of moderate to severe depression consult a psychiatrist in person for detailed evaluation and treatment. Stress is a part of life but what matters is how you cope with it. Do share your feelings with family or close friends even if you don't feel like doing it as sharing helps a lot. Maintain a diary and daily log down your thoughts uncensored and never read them again. Remember every problem has a solution you just need to try solving it and help is just a step away. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
