Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with DVT and PTS after an injury in the left ankle. There are varicose veins and swelling in my left leg. Would it be beneficial to perform an EVLA of the left small saphenous vein, left great saphenous vein, and left anterior accessory saphenous vein on my left leg? What are my treatment options?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

EVLA (endovenous laser ablation) is an effective treatment for significant varicose veins that are not responding to conservative management. EVLA can be done if the DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is not recent (more than six months ago) and there is evidence of cannulation.

When was your DVT diagnosed and have you undergone a duplex doppler ultrasound test?

I hope this has helped you.

Kindly follow up with the answers.

Thanks and regards.
